The client onboarding consists of various processes:-
Step 1. Registering clients on the Mobile app
Step 2. Client completes his Video-KYC (if he is first time investor)
Step 3. Client registers on NSE and generates his Investor Identification Number (IIN)
Step 4. As an additional option, client can go ahead & create an e-Mandate for SIP investments.
Today in this article, we will discuss Step #3 on how your client can register himself on NSE from the app
and generate his Investor Identification Number (IIN)

=== Things to do before proceeding ===
1. First, If you are new to NSE NMF platform, please login into NSE NMF portal [www.nsenmf.com] and under ADMIN, click on Enable Insta IIN >> Agree and accept. This is a one time activity and will help NSE to execute below given online process:
>> KRA KYC verification — To verify KYC Status & match name on IIN with name on KYC
>> Penny drop facility— Credit of Rs. 1 in investor account to verify bank account number of investor and match the name on IIN with name on bank records.
So please do the above process before proceeding. Ignore if you have already enabled insta-IIN.
2. Documents Required - Second, please ask your client to keep the dgital copy of a cancelled cheque in his phone gallery.
STEP 1: Fill out the IIN form which includes Applicant details | Tax Status | Address | Nominee | Bank Details
STEP 2: Upload a copy of the canceled cheque.
STEP 3: Client has to complete IIN verification and confirm FATCA on email recieved from nsenmf@nse.co.in, post which IIN will be activated.
Make sure you have enabled Insta-IIN facility from the NSE portal to ensure all the IIN's you create gets approved quickly but in a rare case if IIN activation is under pending status, please write a mail to nsenmf_bo@nse.co.in stating quoting the IIN and asking to activate the IIN.
